Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway

In order to meet future air traffic growth, the Airport Authority (AA) has been planning to expand Hong Kong International Airport into a three-runway system. The main purpose of this conveyance is to maintain Hong Kong’s competitiveness as a global and reginal aviation hub, as well as to cater to the city’s long-term economic and development needs. HKIA estimates that the first round of the three development stages will finish in 2023.
